Never Binge Again by Glenn Livingston – A Book Review

The first thing that turned me off about Never Binge Again was the unkind language it used. I am not a fan of using the term “Pig” when it comes to eating behaviors, it has a way too loaded connection for many people who are overweight – such as having been called a pig.

Secondly, there are so many links to the Author’s site, that makes me wonder if he only wrote this book to build his subscriber list. I get adding some links back, but a lot of the content linked, could have been added to the book.

I am not a person who overeats, so it is hard for me to tell if this book would be very effective in its approach. But I do know what it means to be bullied into trying to implement a change, and that book reminds me a little of the same language that was used then.

Therefore I can fairly say, that I think that this book – like so many diet books – will show initial results for the reader, but because there was no dealing with the underlying issue that caused the binge eating – and he even discourages the reader to dig deeper into the why, and instead just do what needs to be done to change the habit – it will be only a temporary fix for most of them.

Addressing addictions and behavior problems of any kind needs to go deeper in its approach than simple action steps, unflattering language, and links to more web content. I find this Author very irresponsible with the subject, considering that binge eating can be extremely dangerous to some of those who suffer from eating disorders.
