This time of the year – waiting for Spring to actually show up, and warm us – is my favorite time to cuddle up with a hot cup of tea and a good book (I recommend a hot romance with a beach setting – if you are longing for warmer weather as much as I do). I am continuously cold, due to my chronic illnesses, so I am always looking for something to make the colder months more bearable.
While I have (obviously) some go-to books for this time of year, I have a selection of teas I always fall back on, when it is time to get cozy.
I love the scent of vanilla, and somehow I always associated Caramel with this time of year – combining both in a tea was a genius idea. This flavored black tea is so comforting and homey and makes me think of sitting in front of a fireplace – even if I don’t have one right now.
I wish I could share with you how wonderful this tea smells, it reminds me of the past holidays, and is spice and sweetness all wrapped into one. If Winter was a tea, that would be it.
I love berries – well, just about anything with about any type of berry, so it was no surprise to me, that I got hooked on this berry tea. It is clean, it is good, and it has just the right amount of tartness, that fits with cookies. Cookies, tea, and a good book are the ultimate trifecta of all that is awesome – at least I think so. Do you agree?
Not as tart as the last one, but still with a hint of berry-like flavor AND the caffeine that is in black tea, this tea fits best for a cold morning read. It is relaxing enough to not give me a jolt, but it does not put me to sleep either. Which is good, considering that I have way too many good books to read – who has time for naps?
When I miss Summer so much, that it gets me down, I pick up this amazing peach tea. To me, peaches are the ultimate summer fruit, so it brightens my day, as it reminds me that the cold time of the year will be over soon enough, and I will be able to get out of the heap of blankets I am currently hiding under.
