My thoughts:
I want to begin by stating that The Sheikh’s Unruly Lover by Leslie North is a contemporary romance novel that can be read as a stand-alone book, just as the first installment of the series is, which is a plus, in my opinion. It is also an HEA, so if you love those types of books, read on.
While I don’t mind fast moving romance novels and novellas, I do not like stories that feel rushed, simply to get to the end. But sadly that is exactly what this book was.
The storyline had potential. I wanted to like it a lot, heck at times I downright enjoyed the book, but the sex happened to quick, and so did this supposed connection between the two main characters.
The tragedy that Omar was supposedly trying to get over unrealistically became no longer a burden, way too quickly, which left no room to establish real chemistry and made me think that the only thing he felt for her was lust confused with love. So they had great sex. That does not make true, and deep love.
Therefore I had a hard time with this book and did not enjoy it as much as I did – finding the first installation of the trilogy much more romantic and fluid.
I hope that the third book in the series will improve. As a hard-core Leslie North fan, I am surely looking forward to finding out.

My rating:
3.5 out of 5 Stars
Book Summary:

Following a recent merger, American executive assistant Marian is sent overseas to meet with her company’s new Arab business partner. But once Marian sees who she’ll be working with—the handsome Sheikh Omar Almasi—she’s instantly wary of his good looks and brooding demeanor. When circumstances force her to step into her boss’ shoes, Marian is more than ready to prove she should be taken seriously…even if it means working side by side with the surly, sexy sheikh.

Also Available On Amazon by Leslie North:

Two years after losing his wife to cancer, Omar is more driven than ever in his family’s oil business. He opposed the merger with the US tech firm, and now that it’s done, he refuses to compromise himself for corporate Americans. But Omar is caught off guard when he meets beautiful, business-savvy Marian. The woman drives him wild with her stubborn determination and her distracting allure. He’s never had to work so closely with someone so…feminine, and the more time they spend together, the more he has to fight his impulses.

Soon their attraction is undeniable, but with the wound of his wife’s death still not healed, Omar may never be ready to move on…unless Marian can show him how to love again.
