I want to begin by stating that The Sheikh’s Unruly Lover by Leslie North
is a contemporary romance novel that can be read as a stand-alone book, just as the first installment of the series is, which is a plus, in my opinion. It is also an HEA, so if you love those types of books, read on.
While I don’t mind fast moving romance novels and novellas, I do not like stories that feel rushed, simply to get to the end. But sadly that is exactly what this book
The storyline had potential. I wanted to like it a lot, heck at times I downright enjoyed the book, but the sex happened to quick, and so did this supposed connection between the two main characters.
The tragedy that Omar was supposedly trying to get over unrealistically became no longer a burden, way too quickly, which left no room to establish real chemistry and made me think that the only thing he felt for her was lust confused with love. So they had great sex. That does not make true, and deep love.
Therefore I had a hard time with this book and did not enjoy it as much as I did – finding the first installation of the trilogy much more romantic and fluid.
I hope that the third book in the series will improve. As a hard-core Leslie North fan, I am surely looking forward to finding out.
