Emotional, raw, and unpredictable, those are the first three words that come to mind when I think of Buried
. Some books are predictable, others feel like you may know what could happen next, and then there are books like Buried
, where you don’t have a clue, and that is a good thing.
I fell in love with all of the characters, even if the cast was rather large, which made it at times hard to remember who was who in the beginning, but once I got further into the story that went away, because all of the players – even the villain – were interesting, and made me want to know more.
The quick chapters, moved seemingly from point of view to point of view, without being distracting, which says a lot about the Authors ability to weave an interesting story. No matter who’s side of the story I read, I felt completely connected and engulfed by the story.
Yes, this is a mystery, but it contains the right amount of romance, not the rushed kind, but the organic flowing connection between two people who were connected through past and present tragedy. Which brings me to another point I enjoyed this book.
While this story plays in the present, it has deep ties to the past, deep ties that lead us – the reader – to follow along plot turns and twists, that made this story so special. As with all mysteries, I am not able to share with you any of the details without spoiling it, so I won’t, but I have a feeling there are at least a few moments where readers will be surprised. I love that type of mystery.
was a fascinating and fast read, that made me wish for more, even though the ending was more than satisfactory, and left no stone unturned.
