A Quick, Steamy Romance Novel: Book Review: Leslie North – The Sheikh’s Accidental Heir

A Quick, Steamy Romance Novel: Book Review: Leslie North – The Sheikh’s Accidental Heir

I was really looking forward to reading more about this family with a father who tries to hold on to traditions and customs, while his sons want to find love and fulfillment. I am glad I did.

The Sheikh’s Accidental Heir features the youngest of three sons (which is a Leslie North standard but makes interesting stories and dynamics), Ahmed, who wants to live his life free from restrictions and follow his own dreams. But while struggling with responsibility, and his own interests, he runs across a woman – an American named Melanie, that takes his breath away.

What I enjoyed about this quick read, is that Melanie comes across as a strong woman, who challenges Ahmed to discover what he wants in life, and not solely life by the expectations of others – or at least feel less guilty for pursuing them. She, as a business owner, can hold her own, always working hard, with a goal in mind, which I very much appreciate.

The only downfall of The Sheikh’s Accidental Heir is that it was short, which did not leave much room for deeper explorations of both characters, even though they were charming, and also easy connect with.

I am looking forward to the third installation of the series, though, to find out what happens to the middle brother, who is still – at least for the moment – looking for his own happy ending.

I received this book for free via NetGalley in return for an honest review

Book Summary:

Sheikh Ahmed Al-Qasimi is used to playing by his own rules, but when his father decides that his lifestyle of excess is becoming a threat to his future, he has to work fast to clean up his image, or face the consequences. Ahmed is resigned to an arranged marriage to a woman with whom he feels no romantic spark, until another ghost from his past comes back to haunt him: his American ex-lover.

Melanie is working to prove her catering business is a world class operation, so when she is offered the opportunity to provide the food at Ahmed’s wedding, she can’t say no—even though they once shared a night of passion. When a stranger offers her $100,000 to stall the wedding, it’s hard to refuse, especially when the connection between them is reigniting with a vengeance.

Letting go of the past isn’t so easy though, when Melanie reveals a secret of her own.

Now, Ahmed will have to choose between being with the woman he’s falling for and saving his fiancée from a loveless marriage to another man. With his entire future at stake, can Ahmed find happiness for himself and the women in his life?

About the Author:

Leslie North is the pen name for a critically-acclaimed author of women’s contemporary romance and fiction. The anonymity gives her the perfect opportunity to paint with her full artistic palette, especially in the romance and erotic fantasy genres.

The truth of the matter is she loves her fictional persona, Leslie North, more than her normal, day-to-day persona! Her bestselling books focus on strong characters and particularly women who aren’t afraid to challenge an alpha male. Inspired after years of travel, her stories are set all over the world, from the tough streets of Russia to the beautiful beaches of the middle east.
Leslie fell in love with romance when she first picked up a scrappy, dog-eared romance book from her local library. She began writing soon after and the rest, as they say, was history. She now lives in a cozy cottage on the British coast and enjoys taking long walks with her two Dalmatians, George and Fergie.

Happy Reading!
