15 Best Sports Romance Books Released in 2019

2019 has been so far a great year for those like me who love sports romance books, so good in fact, that I decided to make a list of the 15 best I have come across in these past months already! And yes, there are more to come – my TBR list is overflowing with some really awesome sounding novels, that I hope will be able to share with you soon.

But for now, I am going to share with you this list, so you can enjoy some of the newest novels available on Amazon at the moment. (P.S. all novels on this list have been released between January 1st, and April 30th, 2019, and all of them were purchased by me – mostly via Kindle Unlimited)

  1. Blindsided (Fake Boyfriend #4) by Eden Finley

A decade-old friendship, and a dream of being a part of the Super Bowl. This full-length MM novel does not have a cliff hanger and is okay to be read as a stand-alone novel, full of heart. One of my favorite best friends to lovers novels of all time!

  1. Hustle (Men of Inked: Southside #4) by Chelle Bliss

A steaming hot romance, complicated by a crazy stalker – this book is heart-poundingly delicious! I picked Southside for this list, despite loving all of the books in the Men of Inked series, because it was the one I could most connect with.

  1. Hook Shot (Hoops #3) by Kennedy Ryan

There is a good reason why this book is already on the Amazon bestseller list! The backstories of the main characters are deeply emotional and well-written. Simply unforgettable!

  1. Only Work, No Play (Tough Games #1) by Cora Reilly

I really do not need to fall in love with another series, but here it is – I did it anyway. And I am sure that you will too, after reading about Evie (love that name!) and Xavier! Hot!

  1. Charming as Puck by Pippa Grant

Because romantic comedies are even more fun, when the main character is a sexy Hockey player, I had to include Charming as Puck here. People can change, and the transformation that Nick Murphy goes through is entertaining (from a total donkey’s behind to sweet, loving partner). Enjoy the laughs along the way!

  1. Legend (Arizona Vengeance #3) by Sawyer Bennett

I listened to the Audiobook version of this exciting Hockey novel and loved every minute of it. Those of you who enjoy books with a military family theme should also be able to relate this novel. My favorite aspect, however, is fun and relatable Pepper. No wonder Legend fell in love with her!

  1. Hay (Made Marian #8.5) by Lucy Lennox

This is a short book (about 25K) but still packs a punch. Christian, an NFL coach, runs into his childhood love, Sports Journalist Hayworth Buchanan, and all kinds of sparks fly! This LGBTQ+ romance is a fun, quick, yet emotional and well-constructed read. Loved every minute of it!

  1. Something Deep: Atlanta Outlaws by Aja Cole

Another awesome Kindle Unlimited novel! This Hockey romance includes a single Dad, and friends to lovers plot, which makes it universally appealing, not just for those who happen to love Sports romances! This was my first introduction to Aja Cole’s writing, and I am now a fan!

  1. Bully Boys: A Satirical Reverse Harem Short Story by Marie Robinson

Another short novel, but one that packs a lot of heat, so be forewarned! However, unlike some novels with a lot of horizontal action, Bully Boys is a lot of fun to read, not just when it comes to the sex scenes! Enjoy!

  1. Skater Boy (Patchwork House Book 1) by Mary Catherine Gebhard

The first book on the list that features skaters – because they are just as fun, interesting and hot as any other athlete, of course – is a second-chance novel with a HEA, because we all deserve a happy ending!

  1. Heavy Hitter (Triple Play Series Book 1) by Stacy Borel

Sometimes it is true – opposites attract. And the main characters in this book are serious opposites – one part a straight-laced young woman, who always did what was expected of her, and on the other, Crew, who is about the last type of person anyone in her family would approve of. However, he is a lot of fun!

12. The Wedding Deal (Heart in the Game #1) by Cindi Madsen

Turning the worst team in the NFL into winners is a nightmarish goal and a mission that Lance Quaid cannot complete on his own. But falling in love with the only person who could help him turn the losers into winners, was not a part of the deal.

13. The Soccer Player and the Single Mom by Kyra Jacobs

The struggles of a single mom are real. Which is why Felicity Shaw agreed to a job she really did not want to. Even if the person she was about to work for – and temporarily move in with – is hot Soccer player Scott Gillie. A feel-good love story, with a dash of sports!

14.  Making the Team by Lark Maren

Not all of the athletes on this list are male – introducing Penelope Flynn, the hottest professional softball player in the country. A steamy LGBTQ+ love story that reunites enemies and turns them into lovers!

  1. Football Dad: (Friends to Lovers) by Terry Towers

Single Mom meets a single Dad. Only one of them is a millionaire football star, and the other is a small-town girl who has been hurt and is not interested in starting a new romance. But Cole is simply too hot to ignore!

  • When I was a kid, I used to read books constantly. I played a lot of sports when I was a kid and everytime I would score a goal, my mom would buy me a new book. I think reading is such an important thing for people to do, it is relaxing and really opens up your imagination. I read tons of romance novels back then, and I wish that they would have had these type of sports romance books. I would really love it. Great job

    • how cool! Your mom sounds like she was absolutely awesome! Yes, reading is an incredibly important habit to instill in children, one that they will benefit from for a lifetime – hope you will check out some of these books – blessings and thank you for stopping by!
