fantasy novel, new release, book series

I received an ARC copy of this book in return for an honest review I am usually not a fan of fiction that has historical backgrounds and is rooted in actual events, but this one was the odd novel out. Summon The Queen is more a combo of paranormal, mystical, with the historical and a touch of romance. While it can be read as a stand-alone book, this novel would be better read in sequence with its other series companions. It took me a while to get into the story, but once I did, I really did not want to leave. Until the end thatRead More →

I received an ARC copy of this book for free in return for an honest review This book review is part of the challenge Monthly Motif Reading Challenge to read something diverse from what we are used to reading, may it be from a different country, a different viewpoint, from an author of a different culture, or a different religion. I chose to read Evenings With The Holy Spirit, for this challenge, because I am not Christian, actually I am Pagan. I like daily devotionals in general. One thing that I miss from being Christian is the ready-available devotionals that can literally be found anywhereRead More →

Top Ten Underrated Books

Some books are hidden gems, that should get much more light than they are currently receiving. I have read a few of these treasures, and am highlighting them for you today, hoping that you will choose to check out some of them. This post is a part of the Top Ten Tuesday Blog Hop hosted by The Broke And Bookish. I did not limit myself to books released in 2016 however because not all of the books I have read over the last few months are new releases. 1. The Keepers: Ethan (The Keepers # 3) I was shocked to see how little attention this bookRead More →

book review, romance, Leslie North

I received a copy of this book for free via Netgalley in return for an honest review I know, I am a little late in getting around to reviewing The Sheikh’s Christmas Baby, but just because it was Christmas themed, it was still a pretty hot novel. Another part of the Shadid Sheikhs Series Book series by Leslie North, this book as easy to read, entertaining and steamy as the rest of the novels. I am glad that Leslie decided to give all brothers their own book, and I love how she closed it. Of course, I will not spoil it for you, but IRead More →

I am going to start out by highlighting the couple little things., I did not like about Exes – starting with the ending. While it was sort of a closing, it was not exactly a direct answer to his question, and I am going to leave it at that because I don’t want to spoil the book. A different ending would have been more satisfying. What I also did not like was that Alma Castillo was too hard on her ex, Harvey Zale. Okay, I do not like books that showcase women who jump right into a relationship or the physical, but she could have givenRead More →

I have received an ARC copy of this novel by NetGalley in return for an honest review In order for me to enjoy a thriller or a mystery novel, the book has to have some excitement, some action, or at least psychological tension – all of these were missing from this novel. Dead Gone read more like the report written by the rookie agent Tom, who in his first case was let loose to discover the details about a young woman, that was found washed up in the Everglades. I find it hard to believe, that a cop – no matter what department or agencyRead More →

book review, reading, new release

Now this is my kind of romance novel. Falling For The Best Man drew me in from the first page, and kept my attention, the entire length of the book. The two main characters are from a different world, yet, they are each other’s soulmates, no matter how much they do not want to admit it. The conflict is real, and understandable, from both sites. What was refreshing was, that the intimate scenes were toned down, so if you prefer cleaner (not completely clean) fiction, this book is one of the better ones in this category. I am a fan of second chance romances, whichRead More →

There are so many great books slated to be released over the next few months, that I am sure everyone can find something that would spark their interest. My problem is usually, that I want to read them all, but there are only so many hours in the day.  Today, I narrowed it down to a list of ten books, I am looking forward to reading in 2017 1. Exes by Aria Hawthorne – Romance 2. The Walking Land by Callie Bates – Fantasy 3. Crossing Heart By Kimberly Kincaid – Romance 4. The Marseille Tarot Revealed by Yoav Ben-Dov – Non-Fiction 5. The WitchesRead More →

book review, romance, contemporary romance novel

I usually like Leslie North’s books. They are perfect contemporary short novels, to read when you want to escape, and don’t think about the real world. She builds worlds you can get lost in, and her characters have depth and charisma. Not with Her Ruthless Russian. I am not sure what happened, but this novel felt nothing but rushed, the plot squeezed together as if exploring it in more details was too hard, or too time-consuming. The characters were wooden, and not relatable at all even the family dynamic that Leslie tried to create with the Karev family, fell flat. I also do not understand how aRead More →
